HET KIEK

HET KIEK

Het Kiek is an artist-run space founded last November by five roommates living above the venue a former garage behind Antwerp Central Station (Provinciestraat 116).

The founders aim to provide a modest platform for artists to engage in visual and verbal dialogue through exhibitions, installations, performances, and more.

Driven by collaboration across disciplines, Het Kiek focuses mainly on theatre and visual art while welcoming poetry, music, and dance. Rooted in community and conversation, the initiative offers artists space, support, and an engaged audience turning their home into a shared place for creative exchange.

At Heimr, they will collaborate with their own artists as well as carefully selected invited artists to present a special, still-undisclosed concept.

Kiek’s debut exhibition introduced the kunsthuis residents through a one-day group show featuring painting, sculpture, installation, and performance.

Each month, the space the garage of their home is completely transformed into a new environment shaped by invited artists.

Through installations, scenography, and intervention, the venue undergoes a full metamorphosis every time, offering visitors a fresh and immersive experience.

At the previous edition of Heimr, two of Het Kiek’s founders presented both visual work and a live performance, bringing their multidisciplinary approach into the event’s atmosphere.

The performance took place inside a caravan on the festival grounds, alongside a sculptural work titled Sanitaire Stop.
